O Grande Salto
Essa obra surge após assistir uma fala da professora Rita Von Hunty, em que ela usa a imagem de um aquário como metáfora para falar sobre a cultura dominante. Essa cultura seria água do aquário em que estamos imersos cotidianamente, e que mal é percebida por nós. Apenas quando algo remexe dentro desse aquário, levantando os resíduos do fundo, por exemplo, que conseguimos perceber que estamos imersos na água.
A partir dessa metáfora, elaboro a imagem que aparece no trabalho: a de um ser, meio bicho meio mulher, que salta pra fora dessa espécie de aquário, vislumbrando a possibilidade de um outro mundo.

The Big Leap
This work comes after watching a speech by professor Rita Von Hunty, in which she uses the image of an aquarium as a metaphor to talk about dominant culture. This culture would be water from the aquarium in which we are immersed daily, and which is barely perceived by us. Only when something moves inside this aquarium, lifting waste from the bottom, for example, do we realize that we are immersed in water.
Based on this metaphor, I create the image that appears in the work: that of a being, half animal, half woman, who jumps out of this kind of aquarium, glimpsing the possibility of another world.
